'I want the best for all of my clients'. That is a personal business motto and goal that has developed organically over the last decade of shooting weddings, events, portraits, news & editorial and commercial work -- where often it's my job to help figure out how best to help 'make it happen' visually and in terms of story-telling.
Trained as a journalist & photographer-writer at the Missouri Journalism School and still involved in periodic writing and editorial projects, I am referred by several wedding planners and better hotel-resorts throughout South Florida. Weddings and portraits have been the majority of my work here, along with a dedication to special photo and editorial projects including the Haiti Earthquake relief efforts, a recent group tour & book project per Israel & Greece, or personal photo projects and exhibits related to the annual Flamenco festival in Fort Lauderdale.
I have studied photography since high school beginning in 1982 with the real black & white film and darkroom skills, which I practiced until making the full transition to digital imaging in more recent years, although I may shoot select films from time to time. Nowadays, I am an active member of the local photography guilds and professional workshops and local Meet Ups, and regularly contribute photography advice, essays and content to the newsletter of the Palm Beach Guild of Professional Photographers.
Over the years, I have shot hundreds of Florida weddings, bar mitzvahs, parties, family and individual portraits, non-profit galas and events and commercial work for universities, retailers, hospitals, churches, travel companies and fitness centers. Before all that I made my way around the globe a few times covering religion, features and travel news while reporting for newspapers and magazines.
These days, I find the most satisfaction by honing my art with custom photo-books, and I think is the best way to display and present images now. Shooting and burning images to disc-only makes some sense for my commercial and editorial-related clients who have professional production teams in place, whereas my wedding/events & portrait-family clients receive custom professional photo books in addition to an array of other finished product options and prints.
I look forward to working with you as we move into a new decade.
